Hola mi nombre es Gigi

For 4 glorious months my mom travels down to Florida each winter. My brother down there is primarily responsible for her during this time. We look at it as our winter break in the north.

Gigi really enjoys becoming friends with my niece and nephew's friends and their parents. Last year when she was down there my brother introduced her to one of my niece's friends and her mother. Later on that night at dinner my mom refers to her as cutest little girl who is soooooo smart. When my brother asks her why she is so smart, the following conversation ensues:

Mom: "She's bilingual."
Brother: "No she's not, she doesn't speak English."
Mom: "Oh yes she does."
Brother: "I see her every week and have never heard her utter a word of English AND her mother told me she doesn't."
Mom: "She speaks English beautifully."
Brother: "Her MOTHER told me she doesn't."
Mom: "Oh yes she does!"

My brother described it perfectly, "Facts are malleable things in Gigi world." I wish I could have seen the interaction between this girl and my mom... If it ever even happened. Sometimes we like to make up stories about events that never took place.
