A Time for Mourning

Recently, I had to pick up my mom and bring her to a hotel downtown for my brother's wedding. I told her I would be there at 12pm. When I arrived at her house she was no where to be found. When I called her cell phone I could hear it ringing in the kitchen. Her car was gone.

At 12:30 she arrived home and instead of apologizing she asked how her hair looked. Annoyed I ignored her question and asked where her luggage was. She had yet to pack.

Another 30-40 minutes later she came down the stairs. When she finally started to get into the car a catering  truck pulled up. Gigi was convinced her neighbor had passed away. Being curious she got out of the car and yelled to the caterer, "Is that for a funeral?" The gentleman was obviously confused by her question so she blurted out again, "Is someone dead?"
