Bon Appetit

Gigi has never been much of a cook. Actually, she isn't one at all these days. She always said when I was growing up, "The best thing I make is reservations." However, there are a few signature dishes she has prepared. See the list below of typical menu options from my childhood.

Asparagus - "Just the tip." When we were younger we were told you just need to eat the tips. These days when she says it to my nieces and nephews I just giggle.
Fruit - You can add sugar or marshmallow fluff to it to make it taste better.
Turkey - I cannot recall a time when I've had turkey at Thanksgiving that was prepared properly. One year half the bird was burnt and the other half was completely frozen!
Cereal - If you have to eat the healthy stuff, a spoon full or 3 of sugar is always acceptable.
Butternut squash - Mounds of brown sugar is added to make a delicious side item starch.
Frankie Doodle - Most people don't know what a Frankie Doodle is... See the image below. It is a cut hot dog that is microwaved.
Oatmeal - We've discussed how she prepares this in previous post but for those who missed it the ingredients must include half and half, brown sugar, regular sugar, raisins and butter.
Cheese sandwich - It's like a grilled cheese... Minus the grilling.
